Aeroexpress Launches Services in Sochi

Aeroexpress has begun providing regular passenger transport services in Sochi. A ceremony was held on 15 February 2012 to mark the launch of the railway service between the city centre and the airport. Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister of the government of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways, and Alexei Krivoruchko, CEO of Aeroexpress attended the event, where the first train was launched into service.

14 Million Passengers Carried by Aeroexpress Trains in 2011

14,039,676 passengers have travelled on Aeroexpress trains during the year of 2011. 12,356,099 of the passengers were carried to and from Moscow airports, 21.8% higher compared to the year of 2010. In addition, the company’s market share for the total number of passengers carried between Moscow and its airports increased by 2.05%, totalling 22.03%.

New Year Presents for Children from Aeroexpress

Aeroexpress company has been giving New Year presents to its young passengers. Starting from 31 December 2011 onwards, every child travelling on Aeroexpress trains has been presented with the book Khnychi written by the young author Sonya Yuzefovich.

Fyodor Emelyanenko Visits the Aeroexpress Office

Fyodor Emelyanenko, the Russian mixed martial arts fighter, visited the Aeroexpress office today. Fyodor is a four-time MMA world heavyweight champion according to Pride FC, and two-time and three-time champion according to RINGS and WAMMA respectively. Fyodor is a four-time world champion and five-time Russian champion in combat sambo, Honoured Master in combat sambo and International Master of Sport in judo.

On 6 December 2011, Maxim Liksutov, member of the Aeroexpress Board of Directors, was appointed Head of the Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Department in Moscow.Nikolai Lyamov, the former head of the department, will serve as the Deputy Mayor for Transport.
