Aeroexpress has made every effort to minimize the damage caused by the failure on the railway. Passengers were notified at Paveletsky Rail Terminal and Domodedovo Airport, the latest traffic information was provided on a hotline (+7 800 700 33 77), and passengers were also notified via Aeroexpress official website and the company’s social media accounts.
Over RUB 435,000 was paid by Aeroexpress to passengers in compensation for this period of disruption. Aeroexpress refunded 119 train tickets to the total amount of RUB 100,000, and also voluntarily committed itself to compensate the costs of air tickets for passengers who were late for their flights due to the changes in the timetable, independent of the reasons that caused the failure. As a result, the total amount paid out for air tickets reached nearly RUB 335,000.
As of 15:30 on 21 March 2013, the operation schedule has once again been normalised and trains are now running in accordance with the timetable.
