Jun 10, 2009

During the period from June 2008 – June 2009 Aeroexpress serviced 940,566 passengers on its Savelovsky Railway Station – Sheremetyevo Airport line.

In May transportation services of Aeroexpress were used by more than 90,000 passengers, which accounts for 8% of the total passenger traffic flow of the Sheremetyevo Airport for a similar period.  By the end of 2009 Aeroexpress plans to go beyond this figure and provide transportation services for up to 17% of the total number of passengers travelling by air via the Sheremetyevo Airport.

During the year Aeroexpress has been operating on the Sheremetyevo Airport line Aeroexpress has implemented a number of projects aimed at enhancing the passenger service level: the company has launched new advance-technology AERO trains, the company offers its passengers a new, more convenient time-table and discount “Family” and “Return ticket” tariffs allowing the passenger to considerably save on the money spent for going to the airport. As of March 2009 passengers can take free shuttles running from the railway terminal to the Sheremetyevo terminals 1 and C. The handicapped are offered a free service “Personal assistant”.

Aeroepxress is preparing to launch a through railway connection to the Sheremetyevo Airport from the Belorussky Railway Station. This project is supported by the management team of the Moscow Railways, a branch of OJSC Russian Railways. At present the company is working on arranging a convenient direct access for passengers to the electric train platform. The new air terminal building will be located in the fourth hall of the Belorussky Railway Station and will be supplied with avia and railway ticket offices. Here passengers departing from Sheremetyevo will be able to check in for their flights and arrange for their luggage to be registered and transported to the airport. The new air terminal is planned to be opened at the end of summer – beginning of autumn, 2009. The passenger traffic flow will have gone down by this time and it will be easier to move the departure point from the Savelovsky Railway Station to the Belorussky Railway Station; besides, the station square area which is being re-built now will be less crowded.
