99.5% of Aeroexpress trains were on time this summer

Sep 7, 2010

Aeroexpress has tallied the results of the time schedule consistency of its trains during the summer passenger transportation period. According to the results, 99.5% of Aeroexpress trains brought their passengers to their point of destination on time.

Train travel has become the only reliable and guaranteed way of getting to the airport and back on time considering the great traffic jams in Moscow.

Aeroexpress trains made 18,567 trips altogether in the period from June through August, 2010, of which 18,480 were completed right on schedule.

The few short delays that occurred were mainly due to the faulty condition of alarms and communications channels on the railway tracks, as well as due to avoiding accidents caused by people who did not follow safety laws.

In the case that Aeroexpress trains are delayed, the company together with the Moscow Railway issues reserve trains onto the route, while the company’s dispatcher center communicates with airports to keep passengers from missing their flights.

Today Aeroexpress trains fulfill 182 trips per day, providing comfortable and safe train travel between the city of Moscow and the Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo Airports. About 40,000 people use Aeroexpress services every day on average.
